In this class you will learn how to create a custom plant journal covered with beautiful
handmade paper! This class will teach you the basics of creating a French link journal. It’s a beginner-friendly style of book that doesn’t require glue and lays flat when opened. Students will learn basic bookbinding skills and be able to customize the cover design of their journal. All materials for making a journal are included plus handouts for students to be able to make a journal at home.

Instructor Bio:

Holly is a bookbinder and boxmaker with a love for handcrafted items and a lifelong obsession with all things magical. She started Black Oak Bindery with the goal of providing beautiful, handmade journals that feel like they’re lifted straight out of a fantasy setting. Holly is a current student and teacher’s assistant at the American Academy of Bookbinding in Telluride, where she studies under master bookbinders. Her teaching experience includes box making, bookbinding, and watercolor painting.
